2014 Heaven VMX Program
« on: January 17, 2014, 11:24:15 pm »
The program for 2014 will again centre on Vintage Motocross which is the main focus of the Heaven VMX Club. The 2014 Heaven VMX program will be an eight ( 8 ) round series of race meetings. We will still have our ‘Trophy’ events being the CRC, EVO Challenge and Canowindra Cup. The draft calendar as it currently stands. Note: some details are still unconfirmed

1/2 March         Rd1           Cessnock washed out
29/30 March     Rd2            Canberra washed out
3/4 May           Rd3 / Gloucester River TT – Pre65/70   Gloucester (confirmed)
14/15 June      Rd4 – CRC - Pre65/70 Bulahdelah
19/20 July        Rd1 rescheduled Cessnock (EVO Challenge)
16/17 August Rd5 – (Rd2 resheduled) Canberra (confirmed)
6/7 Sept           Rd6            Clarence (still NOT  confirmed)
4/5 Oct             Rd7 / Canowindra Cup – Pre65/70      Canowindra (confirmed)
1/2 Nov            Rd8 / Heaven GP                     Lakes (NOT confirmed)

There are a couple of new events/venues for 2014. Round 1 will be at Cessnock Minibike Club track. This is a modern track without being too modern as to make it difficult for our older bikes. It has obstacles and a style of track a little like Lakes, Glenbawn and Canberra. It will reward rider technique while being safe for all standards or rider. It adds variety to our program and another option if riders enjoy the track.

The Gloucester event should be a cracker. The local rotary club are holding a Motorcycle Expo in the Main Street and showground area. Last year they ran a display ride of VMX bikes and some of our members attended. This year they are very keen to hold a VMX grass track meeting in the showground as part of their whole weekend of motorcycle activities so the whole event should be fantastic. More details later.

The Vinduro dates are now settled and are as follows
15/16 March        Bulahdelah
24/25 May           Canowindra
12/13 July           Bulahdelah
23/24 August       Canowindra / possibly Bathurst
25/26 October     Gloucester

Any questions [email protected]

Should be a great season 8) ;)

Re your Nov 1&2 date, we have the PanPac Masters two day Vinduro that weekend and would love to see some of your members come up to the Gold Coast.

Just a reminder for riders to keep in mind that the rear sprocket guard is required again in 2014
Reading rule 16.15.4.4 indicates that it is required.

I'm looking forward to the Gloucester weekend and might (with some luck) debut the Hindall Ducati pre 65er. HEAVEN continues to give  punters from all divisions what they want and deserve our full support. The Roy East pre 65 series is a huge leap of faith by HEAVEN to help these old machines in the public eye and on the track. With the club pushing the pre 65 (and pre 70) cause I hope as many of us can support the series starting with Gloucester and moving on to the Buladelah round and finally Canowindra. Remember the old saying...."if you don't use it you lose it" so lets support the series that supports us if only to keep old bikes as a relevant part of VMX.
'68 Yamaha DT1 enduro, '69 Yamaha 'DT1 from Hell' '69 DT1'Dunger from Hell, '69 Cheney Yamaha 360, 70 Maico 350 (2 off), '68 Hindall Ducati 250, Hindall RT2MX, Hindall YZ250a , Cycle Factory RT2MX flat tracker, Yamaha 1T250J, Maico 250 trials, '71, Boyd and Stellings TM400, Shell OW72,750 Yamaha

After the discussion on another thread with regard to this very issue it appears that things are as clear as mud regarding the rear sprocket guard requirement. Stay posted and maybe we can get it clarified.

Might be time to replace some of his coolant with that highly corrosive acid again.
It worked last time.
Put him out for the whole season ;D ;D ;D
