To my knowledge only 3, all 1973 models. Don Stafford brought in two, one of which Drakie owns, and no-one knows what happened to the other. There was another bought into QLD in the day which now resides in a museum up there at the moment (I think). Including my two they'd be the only five (including the lost one) in Aus ATM AFAIK.

I have only noticed one.
He does seem to get around very slowly though so you come across him several times a day making it seem like there are lots of them!

Period Rokon at the Kenilworth (Queensland) round of the Rakman Enduro Series in 1976 (not 1977 as originally stated).  Don't know who the rider is - whether he was a local Queenslander, or if he travelled up from the south for the event (It was a National Enduro Series - or an attempt at one anyway).

Oops, Sorry, that Rokon photo is from the 1976 Kenilworth Rakman Round, not 1977 as originally stated.

I'll fix the original post now.

Nice pic! Got any more? :)  Perhaps that is the QLD bike and it wasn't the earlier model at all. 1976 was at the tail end of the line for Rokons 'conventional' motorcycles.

Don't forget, we're talking about the early/mid 70's - back then, you didn't always get a new bike every year, especially considering the cost of something like that here in Australia at the time.  A Rokon would have cost the same as a new car at the time.

There was also at least one Ossa SDR in that same event, and they were only 72-74 from memory?

The Rokon in the Motorcycle Museum in Marburg (Qld).  A few differences though - the Kenilworth bike seems to have a low pipe?  Did Rokons ever come out with a low pipe?

(sorry, only had the built in flash when we went there a couple of years ago.)

Is it just me or do any others think those bikes look a bit sad crammed into someone's idea of a 'museum'?

After buying all the cool bikes in good condition he couldn't afford the large shed to put them in
