ooooh Firko - much better than a CR250?? They handle for start
Don't misunderstand me Rossco, the YZ-B is a great bike as you no doubt are well aware, but my point is that the monoshock suspension and great engine didn't make the bike light years better than the opposition. In 1974 I rode a bland 250 Maico so I was in the box seat to see what was the dominating bike of the year and I quickly found that my Maico was no match for my club mates YZ 250-B and the Pursang, Phantom, Cappra and
Elsinore. Even Kawasaki was coming close with the first KX250. You could throw a blanket over those bikes at the end of the straight, they were that close and quite frankly they all handled about the same, except for the Maico which had one little advantage....6" of rear suspension. In the end, no matter what you rode in 250 it was down to your riding skills more than just about any other year.
