« on: December 18, 2013, 09:45:00 am »
Check out this neat CCM video. And particular attention to 1st and 2nd place. A '76 and '74 ahead of all the LTR bangers.
SCHWEET, SCHWEET MUSIC  ;D Enjoy

You've gotta love a CCM....They're everything a motocross bike of the late seventies shouldn't have been, the four stroke engine is essentially from the fifties, they were hand built at a small factory manned by craftsmen not robots and....they were British, not Japanese. It's brilliant to see so many in the same race.....here's the same event a year later http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=genr9z2he_k  I look forward to having a paddock putter on Husky Pete and Shoey's beaut '78 or reigniting my love affair with Jonesy's '74 if he ever pulls his finger out and puts it back together ;D.

Nice vid and a good ride  Grouty, how long did it take the Metisse to get by? He must have been hammering to get past only to blow it up ;D

I'm not sure how long John was there before he went for the overtake. Just long enough to trash a piston I guess.
I did let him have a ride on the CCM at the next meeting as his Interspan battery died on the Metisse. I didn't like to see him go without a race that day. Needless to say he loved the CCM ...... and wants one !

Getting off a Metisse and onto a CCM is a bit like stepping out of an old Mk 2 Jag and into an E-Type....they're both classics but so different. I don't blame him for wanting a CCM ;D.

Yeah, getting off a Metisse and onto a CCM is like having a big girl one weekend and a petite brunette the next. Both are great rides but one can be maneuvered around a lot easier than the other ;D

I used to love racing against them in the 70s on my Stormer 250, never could overtake them but then I  did not have too, they usually broke down. ;)
