Cheney Triumph 500

Seeing that the Cheney Norton went down pretty well, here's my personal favourite, a Cheney 500 Triumph that's currently for sale for $17500.....Sure it's a nice bike but its about 7.5k over the market. While these pipes aren't as trick as those on the Norton, I've got an identical set for my Tribsa project.

Another nice one Mark. There are some very talented bike builders out in the big world. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it though, even if I could afford it.
I had a good look at the triple clamps, in particular the double pinch bolts on the lower clamp. What are they off of? I ask because I'm not entirely happy with the standard B44 clamps.

For $17500 I'd be wanting the brake pedal at the same level as the footrest...

I'm not sure, the pic's not very clear but I'd suspect they're Betor as shown below. I've got them on both my Cheney and Ducati, one set from a Cooper, the others from a Can-Am (as the clamps shown below are).

Which one of the situations I've tried to address on my own Cheney but it's still not perfect Pete..

Thanks for that Mark... The set in the pic of yours looks to have the same clamp top and bottom. You can see the handlebar mount holes on the bottom clamp!

Last I heard the Cheney Triumph had been pulled from the Ebay listing, had sold for $12,500 USD, and was on it's way to the new owner in California.  There was some issue at the time on the title and year, with the frame stamping covered over by the new plating.  Where's it showing up now Mark?

You beat me to it.  The yokes were made by Eric.  The forks are British, MP, REH, something like that.  Eric's own forks looked a bit like CZ forks and had an odd tube size.  Lovely bike all the same.

Thanks Graz and Ben....I hadn't even considered Cheney forks actually being used on a Cheney....Who'd have thought of such a concept ::). You blokes are right, as usual.

Thanks from me too Graz and Ben. I'll have to back to the drawing board for clamps on my B44. The Cheney clamps looked to have too little offset for the bezza anyway. Maybe some Norton clamps will do the trick. I am using road holder forks so I need the tapered top clamp anyway. I just need to find a top clamp than is flat and deep enough to mount handlebar mounts onto....most Nortons had clip on bars.

Use Betor or Ceriani/Arces clamps. I think they're a similar offset to the Beeza items and they're all over eBay (although Arces clamps are overpriced in my opinion)

Thanks Mark. I wish it was as simple as getting some Betor clamps. The Norton road holder legs are tapered at the top like CZ forks. And seeing as I did a complete rebuild of the forks with you beaut dampening rods, I really don't want to change the front end.

35mm Ceriani for KTM has tapered tops on the inner tubes, mabe the taper could fit?
Graziano and Ben probably knows more about this...
