And here's my pit bike finished..... Another bike back from the dead  ;D

And another bike that Honda could of/should of built.... The little beast is ALL Honda apart from the rear shocks (WP) and the pipe which I built from a DG end cone and a home made header pipe from CT125 and CRF230 parts.

Cool. Motor looks like it belongs in there. Aren't you doing the same thing to an '85 CR250 Rodger?

Now that's an interesting beast happening there silverfox. Being a Honda man, I can't wait to see it finished.
I reckon having the XL swing arm there might be a problem. They are very short making the front of the bike want to lift all the time. Great for wheelies  ;D

As for getting the motor to go, I have a '79 XR 500 and all I did was put a 40mm Mikuni on it, 1mm larger inlet valves, A high lift cam (can't remember the lift but it wasn't the biggest available) and a High comp piston (std bore). It goes well enough for me without spending too much money on a big bore and everything that goes with it.

Can you remember what the valves were out of? and the maker of the cam?? Thinking of trying to fit a lighter flywheel to get it to spin up a bit quicker, but not sure what will fit. Got a 38 mikuni on it now but need to get it jetted right. Do you remember what your jetting specs are?? I have a RM 400 swing arm and a CR480 swing arm that may go it it yet, but will need modding first.

I got the valves made by sending my original to a mob in QLD and just asked for 1mm bigger. The cam came off ebay. I can't remember jetting specs for the XR. I have too many bikes to keep track of jetting. Hmmm, maybe I should write these things down in the manual I have for each bike....

Thanks Ross. Yeah, I always will have a liking for the little XR's..... It's because of XR's that I know how to ride  ;D
