thanks for clearing it all up firko I think all 3 have a hand in it all
john is still pissed about it as the gearboxes were for a road racer(johns bike is a road racer)in time he will get over it but at being over 70 it will be a while.

I am a mostly member on this forum so you blokes don't know me, however I have known Zane for over 50 years and he's been a close personal friend for over 25 years. I've watched this "incident" develop first hand over the last few weeks. I can confirm as an eye witness that Zane did everything above board and with the best of intentions of helping out a "mate". There are a few men in this world who I consider honest beyond reproach and who always try to do the best by other people and Zane is up there with the best of them.

It was disappointing to say the least to see him treated so shabbily.

I trust the bloke with my life!

I'd like to see a few more of those who were crying for blood come on here and make amends. The poor bugger at least deserves that.

What do you consider "crying for blood" Mark?

How about one from the person who started all this muck raking?

I was the one who identified these gear boxes when Zane brought me a box of assorted engine parts and asked if I could assemble and get running for him.(this was a month after John had picked up his bike)

FACT. These were NOT special road race gearboxes. They were MK9 Pursang 125 gearboxes in varying condition, mostly stuffed. So highly sought after that they sold on ebay for about $50.

John is pissed because he cant find a kickstart gear for his bike and somehow thats Zanes fault.

This whole matter of ruining a persons reputation and trial by forum is a bloody disgrace.

Everybody, including myself who jumped straight in calling for the alleged thief's head without us knowing the full (or correct) story. And the large number who PM'd me asking for his name despite my saying I wasn't going to release it. Now I know what really happened and after talking to all involved I'm so glad I stuck to my hunch that something wasn't right. I feel pretty bad for what Zane's gone through and I really hope we've all learned a lesson. I'm having a proper a mea culpa day today. I even regret going in so hard on Dave's latest keeper sale so I must be turning soft in my old age :-[.
I'm just tired of the bad ju ju, it sucks all the life out of us.

You know ... I had a brilliant day today. Took my young fella and his mate out riding today. He rode his kx65 for the first time and I taught his mate to ride our xr80. The smile on my face was only exceeded by the smiles on theirs.  Just brilliant.

Probably one of the best days I've had riding for many years.

And then I log on to read more of this shit. I think I need to reprioritise how I spend my time.

I'm going to join the self-imposed holiday group.

What's the problem Simo? What did I say that's so bad? How hard is it to admit that the poor bloke copped a rough deal? I don't get it.

Get over men,

you guys know Zane better than me, shit i only spoke to him on the phone for maybe 10 mins about his Husky resto some time back, struck me as a nice sort of helpful type, a few called for the facts, some jumped the gun a little, a LITTLE in view of what is generally just human behaviour, it shows we all care about our little world, thats a good trait in my view, it would be a LOT different if Zane was named as a less than savoury type (he WAS NOT) in the first instance and now it turns out is just a mis-understanding. Lots of sales between "mates" are just verbal, no one seems to feel as though they can question the detail, or ask for detailed descriptions from their "mates", its just life, we SHOULD all still stay passionate about our vmx world, we should get fired up about reported mis-dealings between mates, BUT, we should all make sure we make a judgement only on the FACTS however long they are in coming I dare say that if Zane was named in the first instance most would NOT have believed it.

Zane, i'd reckon you reputation is still in tact mate, again, big balls to speak up and name your self as the ALLEGED guilty party, and that before the thing is sorted, well done.

Now, can we all go back about our Christmas business?

Kt
