Another dishonest member on this forum
Be careful when getting people to pick bikes and parts up
A friend of mine got a bike picked up by a forum member and del
He charged him $100.00 for petrol. all seamed good
Now the kicker
1 part was missing from the road race bike. So he rang the seller
To ask were the part was and was told there should be 1 in the
3 6 speed road racing gearboxes 2 being nos.to my friends shock
He said to the seller i never got them. The seller said he told the forum member
That they were to go with the bike along with pistons(received) boxes of road race spark plugs
(only 1 received) and the racing sprockets that went with the road race bike(not received)
My friend was told that the forum member sold the gearboxes on eBay(later confirmed to my friend
By the forum member)
THIS STINKS
PEOPLE BE CARFULL GETTING OTHER PERSONS TO PICK STUFF UP FOR YOU

YOU KNOW HOW YOU ARE

The converse is when you get help by someone like Ted. Picked up by bike and gear, stored it for 6 weeks and transported up to the Nats. He couldn't have been more honest or helpful. One of the reasons why I enjoy being part of our VMX community.
Cheers

I have had countless folk here help me out across the country with several different things, some of which have been rather large and impressive favours with nothing too much trouble. Many bikes transported at very very small costs and never a problem, i have also helped out many, picked up/tansported/stored bikes. Even had my garage entered on more then one occasion by people who i have never ( physically ) met to retrieve their goods and again not one single hitch! The vast majority here are "old school" honest and highly trustworthy, something i highly respect and appreciate.

BUT there is always a bad egg in the carton somewhere, i really cant understand why anyone would do such a thing.... It's such a small community and you'll never escape without being found out, i hope fella got plenty of money for what he sold and the things that didnt belong to him, cause he's gonna need the money to fund some other hobby now he can never be comfortable in attending another bike event. Is your loved hobby and passion only worth a few bucks? Cause thats what you've cost yourself for the sake of a quick ( dishonest ) buck.

Whoever you are buddy you can rest assured that the only train that is always on time and never misses a stop is the KARMA TRAIN! And when it hits you i hope it makes a very large BANG!  ;)

Cheers, Brendan

And lm the bloke :)

Mick, you're being a bit modest mate. He checked the bike out for me, l put money in Micks account so he could buy it for me and then he picked it up and stored it until l got it picked up, l could not have bought this bike without your help  mick ;D then Rookie let me get it dropt off at his place and kept it overnight until l got it the next day. Oh, he wasn't home either just told me where the key was to his shed......

Thanks again  :)

The tragedy of situations like this is that they undermine the trust within the VMX community. I and I'm sure most of you have used the forums old mate network to purchase bikes and parts, have bikes transported and picked up, parts loaned or borrowed, had eBay items bought for me by our American mates from sellers who wouldn't deal with me here in Oz and a shitload of other transactions with nary a hint of a problem. When I was seriously ill in 2011 and 2012 the support I received from forum members, many of them face to face strangers was beyond amazing.  I've also sold bikes and parts and help anyone who asks in any way I can but that's nothing out of the ordinary, so have most of us....it's all a part of the tight community on here.

I heard of the incident that Jim described a bit earlier in the week from another friend and to be honest I didn't believe it then but now that I've learned a bit more I'm beginning to believe its true and quite frankly it makes me a bit nauseous. I'm disappointed a VMX brother would do such a thing to another brother and what makes it worse is that I've met the bloke being accused and I like him.  Thankfully 99.9% of the people I've dealt with are straight shooters so let's not let this blip on the radar spoil it for the good ones.

I really hope this turns out to be a mistake or a 'lost in translation' situation.

In february this year i sold a Honda cr125, to a friend, a club member of the same club and I stored the bike for 3 months, and then i took the bike to a  lismore club meeting VIC as the friend was going to pick up the CR at the club meeting, another member and myself put the bike it the large shed thinking it would be safe, I put the muffler on the work bench next to bike, then i drove home when the friend came the next day to pick the bike up, the genuine elsinore muffler was gone. I was so angry when I heard about it, that I told the club to put a right up in the news letter for that person to return it. it never was return.

Just had Yamaico Pete inspect, help with transport, pay for (with my money  ;D ) and store a bike for me. Luckily people like Pete are by far in the majority on here.

This sort of thing REALLY BURNS me, VMX is a small world, its OUR world, Firko, you seem to friends with both parties, how about a bit of mediation, if it turns out its true then the person needs to be banned from this forum and NAMED, these sort of people tend to sit back and laugh at the rest of us if they are allowed to get away with it, seriously this sort of shit spreads if its allowed to fester.

Pete's been a mate for over 20 years and you're right, he's one of the good guys. Considering he spends 75% of his time overseas I don't know how he fits in his amazing specials, building his dream house and helping out others with their projects. He's definitely a keeper ;D. I haven't forgotten the support you showed me when I was sick too Paul. I've still got the CDs on full rotation in the car ;D. The good stories far outweigh the bad.

I'm not friends with either, I know the guy who was ripped off through the races, as do most of the Sydney classic dirt track and road race community and I've met the accused through this forum and at the races. I'd prefer to stay well away from getting involved.

Ive only had great dealings with members , Like Firko Ive had bikes and parts moved all around the country and even bought parts paid for by others in the US (thanks Farmpro ) extensive repairs (Yamaico ) . Ive tried to repay these deeds by helping out others in our fraternity with parts or tech help . Karma will be repaid . Iain

Yeah Simo, if you ask me again I'm gonna rip you off ;D

Shouldn't that be "I'm gonna rip you off too" Ted  :P  :P  ;D .. but  you would never do that mate :)

But FFS don't mention my name in this thread .. even jokingly.  After Davey accused me of selling Foxy a Dud I've had no interest in any of the bikes I'm trying to sell.  Even deleted the thread and readvertised.

Let's make it clear that I know nothing of what Jim is referring to please.  But to make it even easier for the reader and to clear up any speculation Jim you need to name the person.  Also that will ensure that nobody else gets caught out.
