IMO pre '90 is no different than modern MX & I'm not a fan, but hey no-one says you HAVE to ride a pre '90 bike. As for track time at HBBB, they won't make one iota of difference. Get along and have some low key VMX fun.

I think you'll find that people have been "covertly" riding Pre 90 bikes at this event for a while guys....

Yes they have.... I was a helper for the first 3 HBBB's and right from the start people were riding MX'ers with rear disc brakes. In the beginning they were being policed but slowly the policing stopped as there was so much other stuff to attend to.... like idiots riding around the place with no helmets on and screaming around camp areas on mini bikes.

Personally, I think including Pre90 will make the event too big for it's own good. Camp areas are already at bursting point and the inclusion of even more people with more bikes (that's Pre90 road, trials, enduro, speedway, dirt track and MX) will make the place more crowded than a tin full of baked beans.

I hope they do something about the amenities as they already struggle to cope!
Arrogance.....A way of life for the those that having nothing further to learn.

Thanks for all your positive comments guys, yes, I was outvoted on the pre '90 issue but we roll on.
Firko, we love the DT/Spdwy and the show they put on, not forgetting the Sat Night Speedway Spectacular. This year the Speedway Sidecar Boys are running the whole show after an absence last year and are keen as: bringing out rare two strokes as well as the thundering Vincents.
Rest assured the events will run like clockwork. Also, the Kustom Kommune http://kustomkommune.com.au/#/ guys will be making a special appearance on the Sunday to test their creations on the track.
Don't forget for the price of entry you get a special treat on the Friday night with Roger Harvey launching his book 'Desert Downunder' at 6pm about the Sunraysia/Hattah BP Desert Rally from 1971-78.
A big display will be at the MX sheds (not the speedway one) to draw a bit more attention to the MX area.
Then it's off to the '6 Hour Afterparty' at the RR Sheds where there are more stars of the day attending than I can comprehend. How many riders competed in both events? You'll be surprised!
Then on the Sunday from 10am we set off on the Red Plate Trailride for CPS rego bikes (or full) pre 1990 into the forest at Tallarook. Registration for the event is an extra $5 for special stickers. GMC and Steve Taylor are planning the course.
Enough dirt action boys? There is a possibility that the Supercross area might be flattened for a mini bike/scrambles track too.

Thanks Peter, don't interpret my post as a criticism of the dirt track aspect of HBBB...I was merely attempting a humorous take on it that may have appeared as me having a whinge.....far from it actually ;). Next year the Klub Kevlar Karavan will be bringing some interesting dirt track tackle. I'll be bringing my 0W72 Shell 750 Yamaha, Cycle Factory RT2MX and either Tom Cates rigid framed CL77 Honda or Fastrack framed TM250 Suzuki flat trackers, Jonesy's bringing his Weslake 850/Redline, ATK FT600 flat trackers and some interesting and obscure speedway machines, Yamaico Pete's bringing his RD350 and IZ465 flat track project bikes and Bultaco Astro and Eddie Phipps will bring his own ex Eddie Lawson OW72 Shell Yamaha 750, Champion framed SC500 and god knows what else. I'd like to see more of the big 750 flat trackers out there so can you encourage more of them to turn up? Do you have any leads to more of those unique bikes....XR750 Harleys, big Trumpy's and BSA's and such stuff? These bikes put on a great show for the spectators so it's be great to see as many as possible out there.

Hey guys,
Looks like some absolutely wonderful stuff coming out! I'm constantly blown away by the quality and rarity of bikes each year....just when I thought I'd seen it all. Good to have you back Firko, Jonesy, Phippsy and all.
Cheers D.
...now I'd better get some tickets printed......etc etc

Tim, I doubt he'll have room on the trailer for Ugly Betty. He's even contemplating bringing one speedway bike in pieces so he can fit another in the car or on the trailer.

Its allways been pre 85 looks like im pushing my bikes back into the shed if its pre 90

Why wouldn't MA include Pre 90 in their show.  Pre 90 is in the MOMS as Classic MX/DT so it should be there.

Strewth he must be squeezed for room Firko!  I mean lets face it compared to all others,  there is not a lot of pieces to a speedway solo!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) cheers. Tim754

Piccies of the engine mounting plates on the yummy Rickman SL etc  ;) ;) ;) ;) would be neat. :)

On a much less fun note I was all set to do some track plodding at HBBB with my daughter Candice on the sidecar and a solo or two. Except today I have spent time with her in hospital awaiting resetting and plating operations on her left arm ulnar and radius bones, wrist and elbow, which she shattered Monday night in a heavy fall playing....netball. :( :( :( Not a happy girl.

Personally I don't think the event recognizing the inclusion of pre 90 will make much difference to the overall attendance, it will more likely just be the same folks bringing along an extra or different bike to ride. Maybe I'll be proved wrong but we'll see, id love to see a 1989 RGV 250 slinging around the rr circuit or a YZ250WR out on the Enduro loop. Call me new fashioned   ;D ;)

Hey guys,

Just letting you know that for the first time your oil needs will be met on site. Yes, Penrite Oil will be selling their product from the Penrite Honda Motocross truck parked just behind the front office. Also, they will be giving all riders a sample from their range once you check in.

Cheers,
Peter D
