Was at the Ross bike show in Tassie yesterday ans spotted this beasty.
Probably should have taken more pics and dug up some of the info, but this is all I ended up with.
Nice looking bike, thought it may interest someone....

hmmm,i'd havta swap the GP carby for something smaller ,the only velo bit on this bike is the motor & the tank sticker,most of its early matcho,which macca you should recognise ,still nice setup,iron mac on metho,pre 60 weaponary,

Nice! Think that might be a TT Amal. Triumph Gearbox? I think the main thing Velos needed was a frame!

That's a really nice bike....I can't quite make it out, is it a BSA frame?  Below is our Italian forum member Graziano Candidori's original Velo scrambler. (Graziano has an amazing collection of British scramblers but hasn't posted for a couple of years. i'll put it another way ,apart from the motor & gearbox it's all matcho/aj,(from what i can see),compy looking tanks nice!,sloping forward jampots is a Fred Cooper M/cycles trick for the desert sled matcho G9B's' bitd,also angled/narrowed them in at the top too,seen Maxton do the same with early TA125's ,very cool  ,

I rode a Mac 250 Velo when I was a Kid, I remember the front had a 23 inch speedway wheel, no brakes, I rode it around the paddock at Cape otway Light house, when my eldest brother was the Light house keeper there, they are a very nice engine.

Way before my time...but both are very nice bikes. It seems my taste in motorcycles is getting older by the day
