Your not wrong Paul! A very good buy indeed, ultra rarest of all the squaries, the mighty 350cc,,,,,
well according to firko and a few select others,,,frankly, I believe him and them.

$3,500
Ignorantly enough, Dave#6 slagged this bike as a "bitsa" when he had his thread up about "whats on offer" (probably deleted now that its job of talking up his next impending sale has been done)

I think the 400 Dave speculated on was worth having, for sure,,,,,but I believe this one is worth way, way more,,

I suspect, carrying #45 that bike belonged to Mick Hockley, who had a 350 squarie roadracer as well, which used to fly, was quick and reliable. Fair chance this bike is well-sorted and healthy inside.
Nostalgia's not what it used to be....

There'a thread on this bike somewhere on here. This is Micks old 350, not a 400, the same bike he road raced, dirt tracked and motocrossed throughout the 90's and early this century. It's a couple of engine numbers away from both of  my 350's and the one Paul had from memory. It's a fast and well  maintained 350 and is a great buy at 3.5k. I wouldn't sell mine that cheap. the 350 squarie is the pick of the open class square barrels, much better than the 360 and 400. This bike is a perfect pre 70 class hot shot with the right bloke on board, you won't find a better square Maico for close to that money.

have you rung the number yet ;D

I have and a deal is soon to be done BUT before I pull the trigger on this bike could I please get some confirmation that this is definitely pre 70.  I do not wish to have any issues with eligibility when I present the bike at the 2014 Classic Nats  ;D

My first Maico ... what am I thinking :)

Thanks in advance  ;D

Go for it Simo....all squaries fit into pre 70. My identical bike has raced in pre 70 for 24 years, won both DT and MX Nats three times and has never been protested. But don't take my word, somebody else back me up........(I'm gun shy after recommending that Suzuki ;D)

Tell me a bit more about Dave's claim it's a Bitsa?  What parts are from what models that you can identify?  I don't want a 1975 frame or anything.  Do you think the frame, swing arm, forks etc all look pre 70 compliant?

Don't worry about what Dave said, it's all pre 70 compliant Craig, it won't be a problem. If you want verification give Mick a call. Buy it before someone else does, you know how that goes :)
