My father had one of those engines, sold it about 5 years ago. Great looking thing. What year is the advert?

OK, Mark could you flick me an email to [email protected] cos I've lost all me email addresses when me computer shit itself, got a late model replacement from a hock shop, I will email you a copy of the ad but it did come from the JAP engine facebook page, google that and have a look, some good stuff on there from time to time.

Grahame, the ad comes from circa 1975/6, as far as I can tell, I have a copy of Kevin McDonalds advert  for the 4V JAP as well.

KB thanks for the pix, great stuff, ta

KDX there's a pic of Alf's JAP drag bike on the forum somewhere, I do have a pic of it on me spare hard drive , will look it up.

Now, this pic has had a run on the forum before, but it wont hurt to put it up again, IMHO the best JAP engined longtracker I've seen, plus it's probably the last JAP engine modei, note that there's no mag drive cover.

Pure horn, Al. 22" rear, 2 speed box, probably interspan ignition, flat slide Mikuni, reverse cone megaphone and topped off by the best looking 500 single (dirt) ever, IMHO. Drool, drool.

a few years ago I went to a blokes house to do a magazine story on his green frame Ducati. While there I checked out his collection of bikes which featured a number of important GP road racing bikes including a new, unridden TZ750e, a few Brit motocross bikes and much more quality stuff. My favourite was a two stroke twin Scott speedway bike. It was one of the coolest bikes I've ever seen.

A mate has a four valve JAP (not Jonesy) that will hopefully be coming out to play in a Hagon frame next year.
