Anyone have any photos of team colour schemes for said bike? Wouldn't mind doing a copy provided I like the theme.

They tried to make the factory bikes look more like the showroom models here in the U.S.  Other than the obvious Showa works suspension and an HRC Honda wing they looked pretty much stock.

Here's a pic of JMB, but RJ's bike looked the same.

The "Factory Novice"
California, USA

'74 Suzuki TM100, '75 Bultaco 250 Pursang, '77 Honda XR75, '77 Suzuki RM125B, '77 Yamaha YZ400D, '79 Honda CR250RZ Moto-X Fox Replica, '83 Honda ME480RD Mugen

That's what I'm saying, there were no Geico, Monster Energy, Red Bull etc team bikes back in 89..

As the other guys say the team Honda bikes of that era looked painfully stock but they were loaded with HRC goodies,The best you could do is a replica of a privateer bike or something from Europe like this   http://www.ebay.de/itm/Honda-CR-500-Sarholz-Teamdekor-NEU-kompl-/220555444287?pt=Motorrad_Kraftradteile&hash=item335a21003f

It says 91 on though so probably no good for an 89,maybe able to be modified :-\ but you get the drift, they have lots of other trick bits too like alloy tanks. kit forks etc, some of there stuff says ex Jobe,I guess they are talking about the great man Georges R.I.P.,there ebay site is hard to read though even after translating,I enquired about postage on an item & it was through the roof so that may be a problem also :)

Why not ask one of the riders (or his mechanic) who raced the HRC bikes in the World Champs 1989. Ring KTM Australia and ask for Jeff.

If you wanted something a bit different, you could try something like Jacky Vimond's 500 Honda. You would have to make one piece sidepanel / radiator shrouds, or maybe someone like DC plastics could make them ? I don't mind the look of it and I think that Hondas should be red.

That's the Innovation Sports bike that Dangerous Dave helped build.
Myerscough also raced it in Europe but broke his elbow on a tree.

Just do what I am & make your own works style bike with a bit old school bit of new school & then sits completely different from everyone else
