KX250 A5 Swingarm Bearings
« on: October 08, 2013, 11:54:20 am »
Looked at the KLX250 swingarm bearing thread, but just got confused.  ;D

Anyone have the bearing numbers for the KX250A5 swingarm bearings?  I'll try to hit the local bearing warehouse tomorrow if I can get the correct bearing numbers.  I don't really want to tear it apart if the parts are not available.  Would bronze bushings be an acceptable alternative (function and cost wise)?

Red the bearings and seals are readily available at a brg supplier , its the steel sleeves X 4 that are the problem .

Bronze bushes and steel sleeves turned up are a good alternative .

i will dig out the bearing and seal numbers for you .

Cheers Bill

I've done 2 A5's lately....we made up bronze bushings for the swingarms, rear brake pedal pivots, rear brake backing plate torque rod pivot, even the bush's where the brake pivots come out of the backing plates.

I'd be interested in the bearing & seal no's if you don't mind Bill  :-)  I have another A5 that needs swingarm attention, I have a set of good used sleeves.  This one has brass bushes in it but no seals, it will be rooted soon  ;-)

Found a set of 4 NOS sleeves from a dealer in the Midwest.  My lucky day I guess.  ;)

Now back to the bearing and seal issue.  ;D

Bill,

Any luck with the bearing and seal numbers?  The sleeves will be here next week.  ;)

I've fallen into the I got to make it nice to sell it trap.  There is always a level of diminishing returns and I'm getting there fast.  The $500 I'll spend will not increase the value by $500, but it is tough to sell things that aren't at least halfway decent.

Im trying to find the docket with the part numbers Jay , but they were from our local brg shop. If they have them in my town (its that small the town welcome sign is on the back of the town goodbye sign  :D ) they will have them at any brg shop.

I know what you are saying, sometimes I've fixed them up so much that I had to keep them  :-)

Buddy,

The bearings and the sleeves or just the bearing?

Part number for the aftermarket bearings is  HMK2025.

According to the Kawasaki cross-reference list that I have ....

Swingarm seals 92049-1011: 78/79 KX125, 78/79 KX250, 79/80 KLX250.
Swingarm bushes 42036-1007: 78/79 KX125, 78/79 KX250, 79 KDX400.
Swingarm bearings 92046-1001: 78/79 KX125, 78/79 KX250, 79/80 KLX250.

But even though the part number can change with other models, the proof is in the fitting.

Thanks John!

I took a seal out of a second swingarm I have, so now I just need to get down to the local bearing house.  ;)

This is what a $100 worth of bushings looks like.

I'm going to order the bearings tomorrow at $25 each.  Does the rear suspension really need to go up and down?  ;D

The seal I have reads 19 (ID)  27 (OD)  7 (W) on the top edge.  The local bearing and seal house can only get me 20  27  6.  What do you think, will they work?
