the latest sx kato's have a linkage don't tney?

The last few huskys have been awesome but no "button"....the 250's will frighten a300 kato easily and are very light (125) feeling.

the 300 husky's are rip snorting engines that put a few people off.

They need the "competition" cyl head to run great.

BMW really had them going in the right direction.....but no button....

Well spotted KTM181!

Mmmmm I have a 501 Berg, not a major fan of the PDS! The rest of the bike I like.

Might have to have a closer look at a Husky ;-)

I can't agree with that at all.. I worked for Feeney in the Husky race team for several years and the bikes built by BMW are a step backwards, so much so that Husqvarna no longer have a motocross team and the only enduro bike they race are the TE250 & 310 which were built by the Italians, along with the 250 and 300 2 strokes which are still competitive. The BMW built 449 & 511 are not competitive and poor sellers.
The purchase by the KTM boss is the best thing to happen to Husqvarna in a long time and the bikes will finally be competitive again..

Nothing wrong with a properly set up PDS & great in the bush with nothing hanging down to get snagged on stuff. Maybe different on an MX track, but I ride my "Berg TE250 in both and have no issues at all. I had a Husky WR250 before the 'Berg and the Husky engine is way stronger than the "Berg/KTM, it's an awesome motor. The complete package of the 'Berg is better though. The new Husky's (aka KTM/Husaberg) look trick.

Very rare to get a snag on a linkage in my view

Im with Big K, the PDS is fine and simple. I hate fiddling with bloody linkages cos some Mook could not be bothered greasing them. too many fiddly bits!

they are usually "special" bearings so you are forced to buy dealer bits at great cost

The picture you are looking at is the motocross 300. The Enduro bikes will still be PDS as are the KTM's.

So KTM bring a linkage to the table. WOW. Hardly innovative and ground breaking cutting edge technology that KTM fans will spew out to all that listen.

At least BMW tried to introduce some new technology..... one day it'll be back maybe reinvented by KTM spin doctors like they did with PDS or should I say the Ohlins/Husqvarna ITC system.

I look forward to the new auto with countershaft/pivot drive.

Signed
still bitter!

PS like the colour scheme, they just need to get rid of the poxy angular guards and lines.

If they where smart they would have kept Husaberg.....they would have 3 brands so 3 sets of dealerships and more marketshare....the Berg owners would have kept buying them, same as the devoted Husky people and there premier (not premium) brand KTM would have ticked over as well.....bad marketing mistake if you ask me.....the cost of manufacture would have come right down with the 3 similar models and then they could sell them cheaper....everybody would win.....but hey, I'm just a dumb mechanic....what would I know compared to an over paid marketing guru?

Could it be a way for KTM to revert to linkage whilst saving face?

KTM has had linkage on their motocrossers for 2 years.

It looks like the new Enduro models do get the linkage rear end..

And this linkage system looks a lot like the old Yamaha WR200 2 stroke linkage system
where the bottom of the shock mount use to hang down past the linkages looking for a tree branch
or stump to rip it out.

Hmm

Berg 4 strokes
Husky 2 strokes and
Orange ones.

If essentially they're badge engineering and only changing colours, stickers and badges. Then why wouldn't you keep all three, unless of course Europe has the equivalent of our ACCC.

You know it makes sense!

I'm not sure I like the idea of riding a KTM with different stickers. But I've only got one eye.
