Does anyone have anything new to bring to the table?
« on: September 29, 2013, 02:16:12 pm »
I'm fresh out of search options when looking for aftermarket options for bike resto's. Type in whatever you want into Ebay and you get bombarded with countless pages of chinese made crap and dito for some of these so called "specialist sites" FYI - LED lights were never an option for a RM400!

Couldn't agree more.

Having page-after-page of listings for identical items shts me to tears...

It is a right pain in the arse, but you can manage your search by negating certain items that you don't want to see. For example, I'm looking for Honda Elsinore parts without all the rest of the crap. I type in search: Honda Elsinore -LED -grips -mirrors -mr50 .... and on it goes subtracting whatever you don't want to come up in your search. It's also a pain but at least it narrows the search result.

A couple of guys on the livewire site were talking about how used parts won't show up at all to those of us outside of the us, 1 said he logged in to a American mates account & all sorts of pieces appeared that don't show for his account.
Ebay came up with some crap about not being allowed to send used parts into the country on customs instruction which is totally false

I think that is a setting the seller can select, If they don't want to sell overseas, they can make sure it doesn't appear on any other ebay site except their own countries.

You can log into any countries ebay, ie; ebay.com and ebay.co.uk and search with your own account and yes, there will be loads more parts that come up than by simply searching from Aussie ebay.

A lot of sellers list that they don't ship internationally because it's a pain trying to list all the shipping costs etc. If or when you find that must have part, drop the seller a question as to wether or not they will ship it to Australia for you. I've had some positive results and others just simply say no.
