1984 XR Brakes

Could anyone tell me there might be an oversize disc brake kit available for the 1984 XR500?
I Googled it but didn't find anything.
Ta.  :D

Easier (and most of the time lots cheaper!) to fit another front end with the type of brake you desire Tony.

PS Email your phone number please or at least one you     may    answer ;) Cheers bugger.
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Unless you're going to motard it, I'd have though that a healthy 84 Honda disc would keep most people happy?
With modern pads, I still rate them as a decent brake by modern standards - well short of the best, but still pretty good.

Tony
a smaller bore master cylinder will give you some increased stoping power and way easier/cheaper then a o/size disc and a customised caliper bracket

Further thought: I'm pretty sure that all RWU Honda CR forks use the same rotor mounting pattern and caliper mount, including the 89 CR125.

This may also be true for the later XRs, which is far more likely to give you a win.

Thanks gentlemen.
Here's the deal, I'm want to stop 175kg of bike and 100kg of rider from reasonably high speeds.
I had fitted a 50mm Marzocchi front end, but being a pedantic old bastard, decided that it wasn't even close to being period correct and I'm going back to the XR front end for now.
Sounds like another master cylinder might be the best option to keep it all looking 'right' until I can get the front end I really want.
