New Zealand rediscovers the choke
« on: September 26, 2013, 09:25:12 am »
After the All Blacks choking at three straight Rugby World Cups they finally got it right and won one. Thankfully the Kiwi Americas Cup team, understanding how much the sporting choke is so much a part of Kiwi culture have reintroduced it in the Americas Cup in San Francisco Bay. Adding to the experience is losing to an American boat skippered and crewed by Australians. ;D ;D

The Kiwi boat was running dead...check out how much they won on the bookies.
It was only done to pay off the national debt.

To me it smells of a rat.....both boats built by Kiwi's in NZ, only 1 American crewmember on the USA boat....the yanks seem to change the rules as it goes along.....to be winning 8-1 and then loose 9-8, how much where the bookies making?.....smellier then a prawn that's been left in the sun for 2 weeks......I wonder when Steven Danks name will get mentioned?

Yup. In one Americas cup (immediately post war) the yanks at the last minute implemented a rule that stated all materials used on the boat had to be manufactured in the entrants country. Britain, bankrupt and still reeling from the war, could not manufacture nylon so that team had to use canvas sails. Game over.

Rich mans sport,no one cares over here  ::)

We are too busy polishing our trophies i.e. the RWC, and a fairly insignificant trophy we contest with a once mighty country, that is now a sporting weakling, you may of heard of it.

I think its called the Bledisloe Cup ????.........
