Suzuki Classic Dirt 10 - Event Cancelled for 2013.
« on: September 09, 2013, 12:22:14 pm »
It is with much regret that VMX Magazine has decided to cancel Suzuki Classic Dirt 10, which was scheduled to be held at Wallerawang, NSW on September 27-29, 2013.  Classic Dirt has rightfully earned the title of being the Southern Hemisphere's most spectacular and successful vintage and classic dirt bike event on the calendar, so decision was not taken lightly.  Unfortunately this has been forced upon us due to a substantially lower level of interest in the event, when compared to the past few Classic Dirt events.

This year has proven to be a tough year for motorcycling in general, modern or vintage, with the industry as a whole struggling somewhat with lean economic conditions.  This has been reflected in Rider Registrations for this year's Classic Dirt event being far lower than in previous years and because there are large fixed costs to hold the event at this venue, there is no likelihood of the event being financially viable. To continue with the event would put the future of VMX Magazine in jeopardy and we are not prepared to take that risk.

The Manly Warringah Motorcycle Club, who have been collecting Rider Registrations on our behalf, will be contacting all who have entered and provide a full refund.

We appreciate that this decision will affect many entrants who have made travel plans and so on and we offer our sincere apologies.  However we realised that we could not delay this decision any longer so that at least we could provide as much notice as possible for all concerned.  Our thanks to all those who did enter and to all the people and organisations who have provided support for the event, such as our primary sponsor, Suzuki Australia.

It is anticipated that Suzuki Classic Dirt 10 will be held instead in 2014, at a location and time to be determined.  We hope that it will indeed be the best ever and that you will join us at the event to celebrate all that is great in the world of vintage and classic dirt bikes - same old bikes, same old dirt, same old fun.
