What's the good oil on current travel time from Brisbane (Centenary highway) to Toowomba? To arrive by 8am what would be a safe start out time with the current road works etc? Is 2 hours cutting it fine?

I would hope 2 hrs would make me 1/2 hr early but you never know. I am going Sat avo to be sure, to be sure. Plenty of space to sleep at the track and showers etc...

We had no trouble going up there last weekend, going up seems to be ok but coming back down you can get stuck behind some slow traffic, I'd say if you leave yourself 2-21/2 hrs you should be fine.

Went to the track today, looks awesome.....plenty of punters turned up today for early sign on. If your coming in the morning leave early...there is shitloads of road works all along the highway. The weather is perfect.....I know I harp on about QLD but geez we have some beautiful tracks to ride on. Toowoomba is about to explode into Autumn with all the flowers and flowering trees in full bloom.....most of the wives are touring around all the beautiful gardens tomorrow while the men get down to do battle on the track. James Deacon has turned up with his 89CR50 8)0.

Big turnout , plenty spectators , heaps of old bikes.

Another great track for us to race on. Spoilt for choice up here in Qld. Hope QVMX keeps this one on their annual race calendar.

Great days racing, perfect weather, 108 racers, Glen Bell and James Deacon put on an awesome show in there 6 races....Belly was clearing the triple jump on his 89 CR500 with ease....2 weeks ago at the MX Nationals only half the  "Pro" riders where clearing it. Too have guy's like this turn up to a club day is a real shot in the arm for VMX. Every one was watching there races including a good spectator turnout....you have gotta love the country people.  The sidecars looked great. There where quite a few riders that raced this track back in the early 70's back racing again (Johnny Kittle, Kevvy Mortimer, Wayne Skyring to name a few).....how many sports can you still do bloody well at and at the same venue after 40 years?. The Pre70 and 75 bikes got around the track easily and the standout to me was big Rory McDonald on his Beeza landing on top of the tabletops with a "thud"....he still had a grin from ear to ear when he came off the track. We'll be back next year twice.....Post Classic Nationals around Easter and another club day in September. Thanks very much too the Toowoomba club and everyone that helped.
