Got Given A CB750K2
« on: July 25, 2013, 10:28:12 am »
The old man rang me up on Sunday and ask me if I wanted his old CB750K2 which he's had for 25yrs. I hadn't seen the bike for 15yrs, anyway go and get it last night, spare bottom end, spare carb set, spare intakes, spare front and rear wheels and a complete bike. I thought for sure the old girl is seized for strip down etc, jumped on the kick and low and behold she cranks over, check the tank still has old fuel in her, by this stage the wife told me to finish stuffing around and come inside.. ;D

Jesus H Christ Dono, YOUR DAD'S BIKE?  Mate if you do nothing else KEEP IT, even if you dont ride it, your grand kids will love you for it. A K2 is a good thing, just give it a tidy up and have a ride now and then, ring me and we'll go you on the K2 and me on my Z9. Cafe racers are exactly that, people who frequent cafe's to show them, your a rider!!!

Nah I found it on the US website that had that contraversial 1974 CR 480 on it .
750 /4's weren't bad for hang'n the arse out, but launching em off a jump takes some gonads

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder but those really are not to my liking at all .. in fact YUK.  Your bike so you can do what you like with it however I much prefer the original classic lines ... but each to their own.

Or you could build a flat tracker like the two below....the top one using a modded stock frame, the bottom using a Trackmaster.

'68 Yamaha DT1 enduro, '69 Yamaha 'DT1 from Hell' '69 DT1'Dunger from Hell, '69 Cheney Yamaha 360, 70 Maico 350 (2 off), '68 Hindall Ducati 250, Hindall RT2MX, Hindall YZ250a , Cycle Factory RT2MX flat tracker, Yamaha 1T250J, Maico 250 trials, '71, Boyd and Stellings TM400, Shell OW72,750 Yamaha

Hoony, the idiot motocrossing the 750 Hondas name is Tom France. He's the president and local hero of a club in some hillbilly USA location.http://www.acrmx.com/index1.html that literally have no rules and allow bikes like this CR480 powered Elsinore monstrosity to race in Pre 75 ::)......

But on Dono's ex Dad Honda Four, I'd just tidy it up and keep it as he had it.......please try and avoid restoring it, they're only original once.

The old fella painted the tank and side panels black back in the day Mark, found out the ridgy colour was a copper looking paint scheme and as he corrected me last night he has owned it since 1975 hadnt riden it in 20 odd yrs( sorry Dad should listen more when you talk) first choice was to bring it back to how it was when he first got it and let him go for a ride.
