KSI Thumper found
« on: July 23, 2013, 11:12:23 am »
What a lucky bastard, finding a genuine KSI Thumper basket case. Knowing the seller it'll most probably end up on the  market but knowing the notoriously difficult seller you'll probably have to buy it as part of a package deal with half a dozen other bikes that you neither need or want. Many of us have tried to deal with him in the past and have either failed or got bikes in less than described condition.         http://www.vintagemx.us/cgi-bin/largephoto.cgi?C=px29PvfNKmddEg3F&w=3

I have tried to buy all his KTM bits in a job lot ( when I was cashed up) but gave up quickly when I saw the hoarding disorder alarm bells. Cool bike thou love it to come to OZ.
And as if ??? he doesn't know what it is, typical hoarder teasing BS.

I think this is how it goes! bert flood had a ksi thumper that moates (I THINK IT WAS HIM) rode when he was here, people, I know bought it as a trail bike for 1600 bucks back in the day(which was a fortune then ) when it was sitting in the shop.the bike stayed in the guys shed for years up in the dandenongs ,the owner gave it to his brother(FOR FREE) and he took it up north to Darwin I think, after a long time the new owner thought to do some homework and he sent the numbers off that bike to England to the knobby shop and the said yep that's the one and said we will give you 20,000 pound for it sight unseen just to get it back ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it still lives in a shed in Darwin .ONE BROTHER WONT GIVE IT BACK TO THE OTHER EITHER

hey ( shouse)   that's how the story goes isin it

One of these, built in 1980, ridden a couple times one/two races back then, been in heathed garage since. With airshox rears, CR250 forks and yoshimura 420 engine.

What do you think that bike would sell for if offered out on the open market?

A lot you would think  :D  But as it compares to other similar specials such as CCM's and HL's, probably $15-20K at an absolute guess?  Maybe an auction to let the market decide?
