XL500   9/1981
Tidied up for vinduro'n but aint got there
Healthy quiet stock motor, starts easy, goes and handles well,
RM rear shocks, mildly modified s/arm,
Slimmed down tank & Cr sidecovers painted in 2pak,
New seat cover & New front guard,
Quiet power pipe, Cogs,chain & tyres about 80% ok
Spokes are rusty, comes with original tank,s/covers,lights,etc
$2100 ono
Bikes located Northern suburbs,Melbourne,Victoria

That is as COOL as i've ever seen an "S" model XL look! Well done, good luck with the sale.

Thanks, they weren't a handsome bike in standard trim  ::)


The pipe is as quiet as , I resisted putting a straight through baffle in it, It will pass a DB test no worries.

a mate brought a new 250 - red one when they first came out... had a shocking tank slapping wheel wobble at 100km's on the road. Wheel balanced, tyre checked... nothing fixed it.

I took it to the local quarry and flogged it around for 20 mins and broke the front guard off on a jump, blew a fork seal, the chain came off and I fell of  in a corner and busted the brake lever.
ol mate wasnt happy about his new beut xl...

He was very happy about the broken front guard....it was causing the wobble.... a preston petty sorted it nicely

NOS XL Honda front guard I've fitted should cure any of that wheel wobble then  ;)
         However several encouraging stubbies may bring it back a bit   :-\
