pipe from US
« on: July 11, 2013, 12:20:02 pm »
I am trying to get an exhaust pipe for my tm400 from the US and shipping through ups is going to be like $700 because it is over size who is the best company to use or is there any other ways to get it to Australia, thanks Michael.

There's lots of stuff I want to get from the States but freight is the killer, things like pipes, engines, forks.  Is there anyone on the forum in the States that would be prepared to consolidate a shipment and ship it to us for a fee?  Maybe once a year?

I think I will get him to cut it for me and I can reweld it it is probably the easiest way not ideal but probably never know once I weld it back together.

had a RM 125 frame shipped from Texas by USPS for $110  about a year ago and rear wheel for $90 form Arizona showed up last week. UPS and Fedex are overpriced.

frosty ....get them to cut the pipe at the support bracket( above foot pegs ) and it will fit easily into a flat pack. Got my Tm 250 sent that  way last year and only cost $60-00.

Thanks guys I have asked him to cut it has the two flat ridges that run right so I can't not get it straight when I weld it back together it's a 1971 tm400 pipe so it has no muffler but it is a decent length,

Can you run pre 75 no muffler if that exhaust is original equipment?

No *

* Unless it still meets the noise limits without a muffler Frosty. My 754 Sidecar runs headers into a 4 into 1 collector ,then only a 120mm long  by 2 metric inch straight through resonator, and yet still fully complies the the decibel readings allowed. 99% of two strokes would unfortunately be a tad... raucous  >:(

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Thanks Tim, I have another pipe but I just thought that the original looks better but I doubt it would meet the noise limit with no muffler on it.
