DT-2MX, YZ250A and MX250A Seat Comparison
« on: July 06, 2013, 05:10:52 pm »
How close are the DT-2MX, YZ250A and MX250A seats?  The YZ seat looks a little longer or is the rear frame a little shorter?

I've got the YZ250/360A seat foam and cover on the way and I'll compare to my RT2mx seat base.  Anyone here ever build a fiberglass YZA seat base from scratch?  Anyone ever see one for sale?  Anyone have a pic of one?
 :)

The MX250 and DT2MX seats are literally identical despite the different part numbers and the experts opinions. I've never been rich enough to own a YZ250/360-A so don't know how that seat compares.

NOt even close the yZA is longer and thinner and sits inside the rail where the other mounts outside.

I have some YZ bases here but no foam or covers so if your plan fails happy to buy off you.  there is a guy in the states that list on ebay good cover and cheap but he wont answer emails and the ebay is set to US so you cant inbox him.

There are definitely some issues.  ;)

Looks nice sitting on the frame though.  ;D

Freaky,

Can you post a pic or two of one of your seat bases?

Thanks!

howdy, the rtmx seat you need to fit up is any of the mx or sc ones.  your foam wont fit as its hiegher and wider than the mx bases.  you can get a complete mx250 seat base wiht faom and cover second hand for $50 on us ebay mate, id go down that path.   as i said ill take the foam you have there if you have no other use.  PM me a price.

Thanks for the offer Freaky, but I found a YZ base.

Now if I could find a clutch cover and an ignition cover from a YZ I would have a $3K motor. ;)

Found one that just might do the trick.  It has the high-foam, rounded look.

That looks a tad different to my seat foam shape, rounder with less of a pronounced edge.
