Stratford Vinduro
« on: June 25, 2013, 07:01:59 pm »
I see there is a vinduro at Stratford for Sunday September 8, does anybody have any more information on this event. I cant make Harrow but this one I can.
                                                                                                                                                                                              Cheers Chippy.

Chippy, we've got a few other big events to get out of the way successfully first. Once they're done n dusted some more light will be shed on the Stratford event and how it will work. It's great country in that area and very close to the famous Maffra/Sale club so we're very much hoping to get lots of locals and first timers to the event, that area has to be one of the most dirt bike cultured places in the land so please spread the word to the Vinduro virgins and uninitiated for us and tell em to "drag em out"!  ;D

Cheers, Brendan

I rode Stratford in 84 and vividly remember the poor bastard in fronts bum bag zipper slowly opening on a long stretch of sandy whoops and showering me with tools.. the more I tried to catch him to tell him ...the faster he went! He was getting lighter by the minute....

Now that all the excitement of Harrow has died down, it's time to start planning for the next one at Stratford Vic in a couple of weeks.   ;D
I've managed to organise enough time off to come over to take some photos and have a look around a part of the country that I lived in 40 years ago.  :(
I can only get away Saturday morning so it will be later in the arvo that I get there, so how many of you will be camping? I just want to make sure there's someone to drink with when I arrive!!  :P
I'm also digging up a few silly prizes just for the fun of it. No idea what they will be for as yet, but being the pedantic old fool that I am, period correctness will be a big advantage...............  ;)
See you there one and all!

I'll be bopping over on the big, fat roadie for this one, Rookie.
I toyed with the idea of riding the XL250 over but cos I have to work on Friday, it would be at least October before I got there!   ::)
I'll give you a buzz on that Saturday and see where you are.
Flick me a pm and remind me what your postal address is and I'll get a DVD off to you tomorrow morning and you can pay for it with beer or similar over there........ ;)

Latest update from Drakie:

Private property loop: About 12 kms long, and 29 minutes to complete. Undulating, stony in parts, zig-zagging between trees, no dust...

Bush loop (rego req'd): About 15 kms around, take about 30 mins. Single track, fast flowing, sandy loam, nice...

It sounds like it's gonna be a good one. Entry is accepted on the day, so don't be discouraged if you haven't entered already. If you're camping prepare yourself for some serious mosquito action!
