Let's hope those that can get busy and build on this groundswell of opinion. Not only is vintage dirt track on a bit of roll, but so too is dirt track in general.
I wrote to Transmoto a while back to encourage them to cover some dirt track and while Wigan was sympathetic, he reckoned he needed clubs/promoters to send in the info for them to run it. But I still reckon a feature about dirt track would be something they could do. After all, the various mags seem happy to run article after article about enduro/offroad and MX, featuring pro's bikes, project bikes, tips and techniques and all sorts of similar stuff that no promoter ever sent them.
I reckon I might shoot off another email and suggest they feature one of the top guns, or even an article about a current star's bike, just to show how these things are set up. Geez, they've done features on trials bikes and stuff, so how hard could it be? Imagine an article about Kirkness and his bike with a few pics of him backing it in somewhere?
Anyways, sorry to highjack the thread, but I agree there is an opportunity there to start pushing a sport that has been in the doldrums for too long. Hope we see a big rollup for the vintage titles at Temora!
