hello Mark - well it was an Ahrma National. I always wanted a BSA- and proudly wore my BSA sweatshirt when I was in College - with no experience except on my humble SL100 - and when I got one realized I was a two stroke guy; couldn't shift it to save my life on the wrong side, and it needed some peculiar wrenches - I felt like I was working on a steam train....
Ya know it's funny watching it all devolve... as we get older and older.... remember what I said : the sport fades forward - and the Brit Bikes concentrate in the shrinking pool of available competition, which here is Ahrma. Hammer & Tongs I will say represented 70s / early 80s - and guys kept asking me to include late 80s and 90s bikes and grinding my teeth would say no no lets try & enjoy this while we have it...
when I get dragged into Vintage (1995 ) the +30 Class was filled and furious - and there seemed to be no "over the hill" aspect
then about 2005 I noted the +40 class had become very fierce, and you had to watch out not to be killed.. and now it i the +50 Class - jam full and a snarling cauldron of rage...
who is in the +40- Class? not many guys
who is in the +30 Class? NO ONE.
no one there.
this is it boys- it's just us.
