Great venue, rain threatening but never happened. Solid turn out. From a spectators perspective the track looked smooth and flowing but riders advised very tricky with rolling whoops and alternating surfaces demanding maximum concentration. All agreed a great test for man and machine. New section with the "bomb crater" caused a few eyes to be opened wide. Just a little dust towards the end of the day but I've seen worse. Full grids all day. Ray Smith took a tumble and was run over, stayed down for a while but eventually got up. Peter Schoene looked like he needed first aid after wheeling Rays stricken steed back to the pits. Spoke to Peter today who advised Ray attended hospital last night as a precaution but was given the all clear. Some new riders including my neighbour Matt Rossignolli who picked up a trophy on his immaculately prepared 400 Suzuki. There was another bloke (sorry missed his name) on a V75 Montesa who stirred up the Pre 75 boys with some decisive moves.
Many thanks to host club Yarram for their enthusiasm and professionalism it was much appreciated by all at VCM. Stay tuned for some photo's and video (Arno?) and don't forget the next round at the modified Undera venue on 16th June. Cheers Jerry
