Honda 84 CR250 Chain Guide - Aftermarket?
« on: May 26, 2013, 07:27:48 am »
Has anyone come across a good aftermarket substitute for the 84 Honda CR250 Chain Guide? or If you have a genuine one in good condition for sale, I'd be interested.

The problem with nos is that they can become brittle. They were green new as Smed said. He does other colours.

Thanks relfy. I'm looking for the rear chain guide which bolts on just in front of the rear sprocket. I think I found one in Japan which will fit. I'll know when I receive it once I try to bolt it on.

LOL...
I met "Jesusislordandgod" a few months ago when I was in Las Vegas. Bobby is his name and he is a real nice bloke.

He sells all sorts of repro stuff and has a LOT of stock..  I picked up a seat foam and a few other bits from him.
He was great to chat to and was really interested in the Aussie VMX scene. He was particularly impressed with all the different classes we run.

... Ken, would the 1984 XR250 one fit? If so I have one that you could borrow for a meeting. They look the same ?

Thanks Guys,

Hardo, I think Andrew's will fit. If it doesn't I'll measure mine and send you the measurements. Andrew, I am certainly interested if it fits. I'll PM you.

Cheers,

Ken

Hi Andrew, does it look like this? If it does, I think we are a good chance.

Ken... whats the C to C distance for the two fwd holes?

The XR one only has the 2 fwd mounting holes, but actually looks like it may work.

Hardo  :)
