"Ready for the until in a race outside strada.motore in motion, who will make the head escape from the powder ,for splashes of mud,the projections of Pietri"
That explains it beautifully. 8)

According to my in house translator  ;D it reads: "Ready to start an off road race". "The engine is running". "The one that gets the hole shot will not take the dust, mud and stones".

I would say thats Wadey on the AJS in his distictive helmet , next to Sylvain Gebours on the factory suzuki

Damn, next time I need a translation I'll side track the online translator bullshit and go to someone who actually speaks the language ;D. Give the Princess my love Bill :-*

and probably Malcolm Davis or Jimmy Aird on the works AJS Stormer and Americans Billy Clements and Bryan Kenney with red white and blue stripes on their blue helmets (looking at the starter). If it's '71 or '72 Wade would have been on a Husky or a Greeves. I don't think this is a GP as there's a mix of 250 and 500 class riders in there. Wade usually rode the 500 class as did the Yanks but the race appears to be for 250's.

Would say it's 69 or later, you can see a sidepipe CZ at the very top of the photo coming up to the line, looking really closely at who you're saying is Bryan Wade I reckon his bike has a blue tank which would make it a Greeves.
Does that give a better idea of the year?

Bryan Wade on a Greeves ahead of Joel Somethingorother on a CZ on the February '69 Cycle World cover.
