fastest TM250 in the world
« on: May 10, 2013, 02:06:27 am »
After extensive testing the TMGP was declared a shit kicker, MASSES of midrange grunt that feels more like a Maico 400 than a Suzuki 250. Believe or not it the TMGP feels like the modern mid range 250, 2004 not 1974.

Handling is also up  to snuff with 370 forks and Ohlins giving a magic carpet ride over the really rough stuff.

Prominent test pilot activist TMBill was quoted as saying "makes my KX250 feel like a flogged out Thai lady boy, been a long time since I had this much grunt between my legs"

Suzuki had RH parts sitting round by the ton and could have built a pre 75 bike this good far sooner ..... wasted opportunity

this couple were also spotted at testing, rumor is they are soon to take advantage of the changes in NZ marriage laws.

Sick on so many levels.
Surely the fastest TM250 in the Whole World would be in the USA.
No way any small time backyard Kiwis could have the fastest.
Bert or Britten maybe ....
Besides we haven't seen the other side of it yet.

Don' forget Richard Pearce who was flying a mono plane round Otago while the Wright Brothers were waiting for the wind to get up, Rutherford was splitting the atom so really the Worlds fastest TM coming from a backyard builder on the Shakey Isles with a box of RH bits is scarcely surprising.

\Forgot Hillary climbing Everest, meanwhile on an Island to the left of NZ they were still fighting over slower ways to shear sheep, so not surprising at all really ;D

Well I was going to say there is an old guy near Woollongong or Wool long gone or something like that!

He has a RH Barrelled TM that might just challenge for that title,

And there is that Suzuki Dealer in Newcastle and you have no idea what is in his shed.

The TM looks very nice, and it looks like my old bike that I bought off Ray in QLD then sold onto a fellow in Tassy. anyway its a picture to look at fellows. Suzuki are a nice bike, a little heavy, but nice.

The TMGP is a really well thought out bike but it's a shame it misses out on pre 75 legality with the RM forks. That's the only thing I'd change (I realisethat NZ rules might differ from ours). How about the worlds trickest class legal TM400, my Boyd and Stellings framed Cyclone? It's finally graduating from Garage Queen to proper racer, being prepped for the Classic Nats with a guest rider on board. At under 200lbs and with a pretty trick engine it'll be interesting to see how it competes with the serious bikes*  ::).

*Somebody said to me at CD7 that " it's a nice bike but it's not really a serious racer is it?". We'll see ;)

Back on planet earth I can report that the exhaust is a stop gap measure and I am sure soon to be replaced by something very trick.

I heard that Marc.com blew both shocks out on the TMGP and the chain needs to have four links removed due to overloading. ;D
I also heard that after two laps Marc.com had to have a lie down due to the huge power the bike produced and the resulting physical stress it inflicted upon him.

I am lead to believe that .com is now in training refer spy cam footage of Marc in action below:
