« on: May 08, 2013, 02:33:09 pm »
Gday all,

This is the first tiome i have dismantled a Flat Slide carby and Im having problems with removing the needle jet.

My question....Is that a clip on top of the needle and you just pull it out using pointy pliers???

I have tried and it does not move far,, i dont to break it.

Any help appreciated

Once the main jet is taken off the needle jet should push out (back up through the slide opening).  Sometimes they can be a bit tight and need a little tap.  They are just the same as a round slide carb

Are you removing the 'needle' or 'needle jet', the needle is held in the slide with a 6mm hex plug that you 1/4 turn to undo.  The needle jet, as Steve says, should just tap out once the main jet is undone.
