Help, what model airbox
« on: April 04, 2013, 11:07:32 am »
chasing an air box for an 81 RM250X saw this on evil bay.  Is it the 125 or 25o, will it fit which ever it is?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980s-Suzuki-RM125-250-air-box-original/130879440175?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D6711989768347029832%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D4%26sd%3D261063575769%26

only got 1 day and 23hours to decide

Hi Barry

I have a spare 125X airbox and it looks the same as the one in the ebay ad (from memory) however without being able to compare them side by side, you would never know for sure.  I would expect them to look similar but the 250 one would/should be larger overall?  Certainly the inlet boot would be bigger.

If you want I could take some measurements or you could borrow my spare one?

Cheers
Craig

craig I have the boot of the 250, but looking for the whole box.  If you could give me some measurements of your box.  I'll check it against the internals of my box

Okay I can do that when I get home tonight. Exactly what measurements do you want me to take?

I believe just the dimensions of the boot would be great, will give me an indication if the 125 box would fit my 250.  That would be great

They don't interchange. The 125 has a different shape to fit the smaller frame. Also the side covers are different shape's and a smaller size carb boot.
