the avatar is too small betric to see , can you post it ? i bow to the greater knowledge and agree with all, and like i said whatever it is or could be, its for sale or swap as it is.

im only going on the decal but did suggest it might be a sticker as i knew he last ventured into Honda and suzuki kits into the 80s till he realised that era was dead, but who knows.

the frame has  stamps TXW 936970 on it does that help any ?

i agree with pokey it does look like that 74 cooper.

any way down to it, resonable offer or swap takes it.  :-X

You have a good offer on the table Freaky. Go back a page you may of missed it. BETRIC said its worth $250 in its currect state, I reckon he would know its value
Firko would also know what its worth yet has offered you $400 cold hard cash..

I've had a rethink on it and if Betric puts $250 on the Cooper that'd be its value. He's the countrys foremost Moto Islo scholar and knows his shit. I'm changing my offer to $300 based on his knowledge.

HAd another look at the bike its more like your MX version, not the trails you posted, has the same side panels as your MX, Bike no places for speedo etc on tripples anywhere, exhaust looks like a home made fix, even off another shitter. seems otherwise like Piccy,  so it may well be one of the 40 MX version that came in.   anyhow $700 complete as is or it will go on ebay through the shop till it gets it or close to it.

Ta for the follow up offline betric that was interesting info.  cheers.

Thats ok.   based on that its for sale as a whole. it will go online in the shops name so hey it will sell or it will stay there till it does. like you said it has to be worth $700 just for the parts, like if thats the case where are you going to get em ?

If somthing changes ill post in here, if not it be online, you would be surprised who else out there has the other parts of the puzzle.  I paid more for a tM in bits and that wasnt even complete or running, but at the time i had a need for it.

At the end of the day if 150 came in the country and you have 10 then the rest are out there somwhere, there may just be another collector who has the other bits needed you would be amazed whats out there not on our radar, to think otherwise is fool hardy to say the least.

but thanks for the good wishes :O)

FREAKY BEEN LOOKING AT THE COOPER PHOTO AND I NOTICED THERE IS NO BRACKET FOR THE INGITION SWITCH, IS THERE AN INNER STEEL GUARD AS THE ENDURO MODEL USE ONE AND EARLY MX MODELS ALSO USED THEM, BUT WITHOUT THE BRACKETS FOR THE ENDURO'S ROUND AIR BOX, LATE MODEL (BLAIR'S) MX BIKES USED A YELLOW FIBREGLASS AIRBOX THAT FORMED PART OF THE INNER GUARD, ANOTHER WAY TO ID IF IT IS AN MX COOPER IS, IT SHOULD ONLY HAVE ONE WIRE COMING FROM THE INGITION (3WIRES ENDURO MODEL) AND THE BANJO BOLT ON THE CARB BOWEL THE HOLDS THE MAIN JET SHOULD HAVE 220 STAMPED ON THE HEAD OF THE BOLT (MX) OR 210 FOR ENDURO MODEL ( THE MAIN JET SIZE), THERE SHOULD BE NO EXTRA BRACKETS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FRAME BEHIND THE NUMBER PLATE IF IT IS AN MX BIKE, ENDURO BIKES HAD THEM FOR THE UP PIPE, DO THE ENGINE NUMBER (ON TOP OF CRANK CASE UNDER CARB,  HORSES HEADS STAMPED EITHER SIDE OF ENGINE NUMBER) AND FRAME NUMBER MATCH?

I've got to agree with Betric. For $700 I'd want a more complete and cleaner bike than that. To my way of looking at it the bike deserves to remain intact because there aren't that many left. As much as I like Coopers or anything else quirky or unusual, they really aren't that desirable to the general vintage public. Besides Betric and maybe one or two other owners, Coopers don't really have much of a following. To ask $700 is limiting an already narrow target market. I'd like to see it go to someone who's prepared to go the hard yards and restore the bike but at $700 that person hasn't crawled out from under his rock yet.

yes, it has the elephants or horse head stamps, no ignition switch, air box is fibre glass under seat / panels, note it also has braced swing arm mod, id say its mx and someone tried to race it.

note to self: funny you say that  firko but i have had about 12 folks asking about it including forum folk, so i give you the hot tip there is more than dave and 2 others who like these bikes, im a little offended with your comment regarding "rocks" as rightly those folks would be too. >:(

Personally,  ID like to see some one tidy it up and race it about pre 75, why go to all the effort to restore it if you put such a low value on it ? if you dont reckon its worth $700 then a restored one couldnt fetch $2k based on basic percentages, and you would only have 3 buyers based on your maths after all that trouble.

FWIW- i think it Needs a tidy up and a dam good hiding / flogging i say ,then decide in a few years what its fate should be or cut it loose. ???

ANy how its down the shop and it will sell, im very confident of that, just sounds like you havent met the buyer yet.  Trust me hes' out there just not walking in your circles, so can we cut back on the opinions on price, after all its only an opinion on what you would pay, you have indicated your price and it wont besold for that, so leave it at that and let the market decide its true worth.  After all its just a simple for sale advert incase someone here wanted it first and had a yearning for one :-*
