Yeah, it was good.
Some random thoughts:
1. Snowy's near death experience on his Evo 250... Think of the most front-heavy landing you've ever seen, then make it more front heavy... But he rode it out, somehow.
2. Picking up a foot off the track.
3. The bolt-in-the-holed-piston trick DOES work, and isn't just an urban myth. Big thanks to everyone who loaned me parts and/or tools for the exercise. And an extra big thanks to Rossco who was winding me up about it before the race ("How many laps will it last? Two? One? A half?"), and then DNF'd the race himself, handing the win to Neville and second place to me.
4. Awesome track. These huge jumps that even ancient trail-bikes with crap suspension land softly from. Amazing. I even learned roughly where it went by the end of the meeting.
5. Great vibe among the punters - everyone willing to help other people out, everyone apparently in a good mood.
Etc.
As always, big thanks to everyone who made it happen.
