Pro Circuit pipes
« on: May 04, 2008, 09:17:20 am »
i saw a 1979 RM 250 for sale with a pro circuit pipe on it, well owner seller claimed it was that but i couldnt actually see the right side of the pipe, and i was wondering where they would of got it from. they are not listed on the website. also ive seen a pro circuit pipe on a 81 maico 490 and was wondering where these are available from. i asked pro circuit if they specially make them or still have the jigs to make one and they just said we dont have a pipe for this model RM, but im not sure if i just didnt get onto the right person at pro circuit. its a bit of a mystery.

i don't think pro-circuit go back that far!

i think the earliest they made was probably 1984 maybe, although i have never seen one, most 84 model cr500's i have seen have DG or FMF . it is unlikely they jigged up for earlier models, its a small market.

i have a pro-circuit pipe on my 85' 500 and 86' 250.

I believe Pro Circuit started out as a Husky hop-up shop in 1978 (PCP).  I think they were still Husky only in 1979. 1981 may have been the first year they started producing pipes for other brands.  They definitely made pipes for all the 1983 Hondas.

On my USA trip in 85 I visited the Pro Circuit factory & briefly met Mitch. I was impressed by mnay metre square boxes of pressed cones & guys welding them up, it seemed they had been biulding pipes for a few years at that stage.

I have a DG pipe for a 250T and a P-circuit for an 84 RM .At Cd 5 I saw a guy with a 92 mod Pro-circuit pipe fitted to a 250N/T.It looked a little odd but worked well. I think his name was Frank from memory, and he was from Vic.
