Honda fork mods for CZ
« on: March 04, 2013, 07:05:53 am »
Guys can anyone tell us what needs to be modified so the Honda XL MT 250 forks can be recycled into the CZ fork legs.

Many thanks

Noel, thanks very much for the info.  Will look at the top taper and the damper rods for the best fit.

Why would you want to do that Pete? CZ forks are shitloads better than the Honda items. CZ forks are as close as you can get to Cerianis without contravening copyright.

Firko,

Cause I can't get any replacement fork tubes that CZ made that don't have a ship load of rust hangin off em.  I got the good oil on the Honda ones from a guy I know that is Fast and Owns a CZ what wins races so I thought it was a good idea. If I could get a pair of CZ fork tubes in good order I would grab em off you me old son.  See what you can come up with....

Just get them re chromed and be done with it. You won't have to do it for another 30 years.

Like Brad said, get 'em chromed.....or try Betor legs (Bultaco, Monty, OSSA, Canned Ham and many more) as I'm pretty sure they come mighty close. Get onto the Cousin Weedy CZ forum and ask what the alternatives are and what work is needed.....those blokes breath in Czechoslovakian and know everything there is to know about Cee Zees.

I don't know what it would cost there but here in Vancouver it is $150 to rechrome the pair.

Ah you blokes, just when I think I have got my head around this issue you come up with alternatives that are most likely better. Last pair I got done (AW Maico) cost $350 for the pair. And worth every cent.  We have everything else to this CZ so I spose another 350 wont make a lot of difference.

thanks for the straight forward advice

About 12 months ago i got YSS down in South Australia to rechrome some fork legs
and it only cost from memory around $150 bucks.
But check with Walter first.
