YZ125H
« on: February 24, 2013, 04:42:18 pm »
I bought this little YZ cos I raced one in '81 and '82, but as usual, it's really hard for me to get weekends free to ride an unregisterable bike so I'm putting a toe in the water to see if anyone's interested in it and what it might be worth?

Good stuff. Nice, tight engine with no leaks. Suspension feels good except too soft on the rear for me. Tyres are reasonable. Rentahl bars. Rides quite well.
Bad stuff. It's ugly. Needs all new plastics except the tank. Frame is red and the head stem has been bypassed with the cooling system. Muffler needs repacking. Header pipe is rough but functional.
Seat is stock, but with a home-made safety seat added and using a CR cover. Spokes are rusty, but tight.
Flick me a pm or email if your interested.
Thanks

Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder......  :P   :D :D

I reckon it's only worth a grand and would probably be ok with selling at that if anyone's interested.

Thanks Brett.

Tony, Don't be so hasty. These things are a great thing in Pre 85 if set up correctly.

You're not helping Ted...........  >:(

 :D :D :D :D

To be honest, I only bought it on a whim cos I had one when I was younger, but I just don't get weekends free to ride at any events and don't have much access to private property.   :-\

The old answer is it is worth what someone will pay.  I cannot stand that answer when someone says that. Of cause my estimate is just that.  These days i note that even rough bikes, so long as they are original often get really get good dollars.
If it was an cr125rz what would it be worth?

To me, it would be worth more cos the 125RZ was the last bike my Dad ever bought for me.  ;)
Thanks for the input, Brett. It helped me decide that it's probably worth putting out there rather than having it hanging about in the back of my shed.  :-\

I raced one of these in 82  :)
Needs the right number plate on it to be authentic, has the later 'J' plate on it.

Definitely for sale now as something else has come up that I 'must have'.  ::)
It's on eBay for $1099.00 but I'll take a bit less from you blokes.  ;)
