Welcome mr500,
Good luck finding the right bike, if you are considering racing then take note that84 bikes are the latest model allowed in pre 85  and also pre90 and so on.  I believe an 86 or 87 could only run in pre90 of which you might want to check what events are currentlt available in the type of race you wanna run.

Hi Mr500

Welcome aboard.  You've come to probablky the best VMX forum in Australia.

In relation to your bike search, here is a link to a very nice CR500 that is currently available from a forum member:

http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=27531.0

The seller, James, is a top bloke and whilst I haven't seen this bike in person, I recall his excitement when he first purchased it due to the fact it was such a good original bike.  Eligible for pre 90 events.

Cheers
Craig

Hi mr500, I'm a newbie here too. Lots of good people.

Pity you look like you are a red blood, as when it comes to 500 motors their can only be one king in my opinion - KTM! (although never experienced the legendary Maico) :-\ Magnificent grunt - just turn the dial on the right 'bar as to how much torque you wanted - instantly!

I rode a couple CR 500's, I remember one ride in particular. At a familiar track, a friend said "here ya go" so I had a ride of his CR. One section I loved - a right hand power on sweeper - a steer with the back wheel sort of corner.  Each lap I was lovin' this CR getting more and more brave when all of a sudden - POW! Steered me right over the highside and into the dirt! It was like a light switch!

They are a sweet looking thing though, always had a soft spot for Hondas.
