First ride 2013 Kenilworth MX Park
« on: January 12, 2013, 02:19:36 pm »
Gday all,

A few pic's from our first ride for 2013, my son and I went to Kenilworth MX Park and it was a blast, for $30 you can ride all day on a few different tracks.

The TM suffered on a few of the jumps bottoming out, so more care was taken as we didnt want to snap the frame or bend the bike so we only jumped where there was a down ramp, but the overal layout was good.

The RM400 could ride on all tracks, the only downer of the day was the 370 clutch slipping so it never made it out on the track.

There will be a next time :)

Great shots, they make those tracks look a lot better than they actually are.. I was parked beside you that day   ;)

That place has the potential to have some incredible tracks, instead do three laps of each track and your done.

As a first timer at the Park i thought it was well set up and alot of fun.
I didnt mind the layout of the tracks as i could ride the intermediate with the TM and all tracks on the RM400.
I would defiently go there again, not many places were you can get time on the bike in mx conditions and being with my son we were soon racing one another, swapping bikes, it was suprising how fast the TM400 is, only limited by suspension travel.

When we were there there was plenty of riders, lots of small kids and everyone had respect for one another... :)
Next time i go i would do 20min moto's, good training for the Nationals.

How would you compare the track and facilities to the new Beaudesert MC Park?

Qld Moto Park is way better with its tracks, watering and track maintenance, camping, toilets and showers. The Kenilworth track layout is boring as hell and repetitious.

The track at Kenilworth is only 2 km’s North off Kenilworth Brooloo Road.
Not far for us living on the Sunshine Coast.

Qld Moto Park sounds good, maybe we should organise a camping trip there, VMX bikes take over... ;D
