TT/XT 500 pre 78 Frame or Flattrack Frame

Im looking for a TT /XT frame prefer pre 78 or a flattrack frame that will fit a TT500 in it thanks Hilly.0407320423

Hilly, Jim (jimg1au) has one for sale that might fit the bill.....http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=26997.0 Failing that, if you find a stock frame they can easily be modified to flat track specs by bringing in the steering head angle to 26 degrees.

1981 TT500H flat tracker.  This is a project that I worked on over the past six months or so.  It was raced by the previous owner.  I have ridden it a few times, but have not gotten to race it yet.  I am unsure of the internals of the engine.  All I was told was that it had a 12.5:1 Wiseco and a larger carburetor.  I modified the rear frame loop to mount a Knight tail.  It had a Knight tank when I got it.  I spent a lot of time on the glass, but it's not perfect.  It has a nice metallic black paint job.  Goodyears front and rear.  Spool front 19" wheel and stock rear hub with 19" rim.  I have a few extra sprockets, extra rear tires, center stand, starter, and battery cart.  This is a turn key package

Gday Hilly,  Find a TT500 frame mate, I,ve had the pleasure of havin a crack on this bike owned by Brian (Bike Mart at Ringwood) at Broadford a couple of times, Fast, real easy to ride and fun to punt around on , well worth havin a toss over.

Pretty sure all the XT & TT 500 frames are considered flow-on so should be okay for pre 78.
I doubt you could squeeze the motor into a 250 frame but stranger things have been done in the name of development

  Don't overlook the SR frame Hilly, it's already got the short forks and mag wheels. You'll still have to bring in the steering rake a few degrees though.

that SR framed like looks nice but i couldnt do that to my trustworthy old sr even though i dont use it for bitchey burning anymore.id like to make a flat tracker out of a spare xt frame for running about the dirt track on my farm so is derakeing it to 26 degrees nessary?or can i just bend the fork legs like i discovered on my ts185 that was owned by kids who must have hit a washout very hard judgeing on the bend in the front axle,when i put back a spare set of straight forks the front end jumped about and washed out consently so i put the bent forks back in and it was so much different.

Wow, the simple things always get overlooked. I can't believe that I've spent all that time deraking a frame when all I had to do was put in a set of bent forks.

Or heat up the top rail to a rosy red and ride the bike into a wall at speed, it works every time....

i discovered this by accident or i should say the kids that owned the bike had!talking to a old sweedway racer mate about my "discovery" and he said that when the top racers couldnt get their bikes to corner theyd run the front of their bikes squarely into the track wall to sort it out i know my 185 forks have at least a 1 1/2 to 2 degree bend in them and it makes a big difference to the bike in a good way
