Where to start.... Once upon a time a young lad picked up a magazine called "Motocross Action" and promised himself that when he was old enough and had the money he would do motocross. I was about 10yrs old then and the closest I could get to mx was on my 20" wheeled push bike setting up jumps and the like. But after a move to the country and, an after school job milking cows I got to learn how to ride a motorbike (XL100). I worked every school holidays and in the weekends milking those things and bought the bike I learnt on. I guess I pulled about 294,624 tits to get that first bike. I cant remember how many times I got shat on but I did have a farm to ride the bike on, life was bliss.
The XL100 was sold and a TM125 was the next weapon, but I never got to MX it, and it to was moved for a XL175, but after a Ford F100 decided it liked my side of the road more than its own any thought of motocrossing was now in a crumpled heap.
Cars became the vehicle of choice for the next 22yrs but that buzz of dirtbikes was always their. All I wanted was a dirtbike to play around on at the beach and in the forest so I was on the lookout for just such a stead. Asking a few friends if they could keep an eye out for a bike I stumbled onto this thing called VMX and, as if you guys dont already know 'the rest is history'.
I bought a YZ125E and went racing. It just took till I was 40yrs old but who is counting..... just like the amount of bikes I have.
So thats my story and even though in the early days I owned other brands back then, all I own now are Yamaha's. Call me one eyed, I dont care, but a YZ just does it for me.
