Big bore PW50.
« on: December 22, 2012, 09:18:01 am »
In among yesterday's panic, I discovered that one of the PW barrels is 4mm oversize.

Anyone heard of this before? More to the point, anyone know what the piston is from?
No markings on it except the usual for Yamaha "ART" cast into it. Seems to fit straight in - no barrel spacer, conversion bearing or anything like that.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

most of the "ART" pistons should have a number inside them.

Your caliper wasn't zero'd  ;)

What dimensions was the PW 80 bore and stroke might have come from there.

It is the Yamaha 60cc Tri Zinger. Same motor as PW but was 60cc. We still have one that we had new from 1984. Great fun.
