From memory I can only remember one article with a red Wasp very early in the 1/2 dozen mags at a guess  . Iain

Could have been a yellow wasp, which is now red?

I knew it was Peter Lawson Walter but I thought he was on the Honda....that's what the years have done to my memory, sorry. I have no doubt you had nothing to do with it Walter...it was an example of just plain crazy riding, nothing more.

I haven't gone through the pages so forgive me if it's been mentioned but I'd like a feature on the Hagon stroked 370 four stroke that Vic Eastwood reckoned to be far faster than his XT version. I've heard that Vic's memory is not what it was but I think Rod Spry has the bike in for restoration, so possibly an article is in the offing.

I would like to see vmx Mag show more on the 50 to 80cc European Enduro and Motocrosser, they are sweet bikes and I believe they have
good following over their in Europe.

They did a piece on them a couple of issues ago Dave .

The more I watch American Pickers and those Brit antique shows it sinks into me that if a bike is complete enough to avoid a resto, don't do it. As Shelpi said, they're only original once.  Even my upcoming antique KR Maico 250 flat tracker will at first avoid the resto brush. I'm going to clean it up as best I can, reupholster the seat in weather worn used  leather, rebuild the engine and mechanicals and put it on the track as is. I might eventually do a big old resto on it but we'll wait and weigh up the pro's and cons.

It's from the early 60's Wal. I've been around Maicos for 40 plus years and it's the first I've seen except for a couple of photos in books. I had to have it.

Nothing like a little 'Rustoration', I like the Harley Museum "Wheels Through Time"  where they drag some old sled from the 1930s out of a barn and get her running, then ride across the States on some barn fresh veteran.

How about featuring the individual VMX class winners from each state in Australia?

Now that the season is finished there are plenty to choose from.

This would showcase 'real' bikes and also the enthusiasts that are still buying oil and tyres for these old bikes...... then racing with like-minded people on weekends.   :)

Other than that..... more Green would be great ...   ;)

I think many a bike has been covered over time but the bike/owner story would have stuff that many would not know and find interesting.  As time goes by there will many new VMX owners with an interesting background to be shared with us all.

I have been to http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/ in Maggie Valley, NC and the guys are simply awesome. If you are showing interest in some bike, Dale will drop the ropes, pull it into the hallway, fire it up and smoke it up and down the hall :-)
