Castella vinduro (Dec 2) - what a great way to finish 2012 Vic Vinduro season

Another vinduro, another great day. The weather was kind and there was about 75-80 riders present, on all kinds of machinery. Plenty of new faces, and a few familiar ones that we ain't seen in a while. Really great stuff.

Ryan Dew on a PE175 finished the day on top with a commendable 19 laps. My team mates Ross and Grahame both managed 18 each, making the Roscoe's Suspension Team the unofficial winners of the team challenge with an unassailable 47 laps in total. As a last minute draftee I must admit that I felt quite a bit of pressure, but the first night off the booze since 1993 and a late night session in a 24 hour gym (aren't they weird places?) paid off!

I saw a lot of photographers out there, so hopefully we'll see some pics soon. There were quite a few helmet cams about as well, so let's see those vids.

Yep what a ball-biter.
Team Roscoe's stuck to the game plan and instead of outright personal victory, members concentrated on the bigger picture whilst helping fallen riders and encouraging the slower and younger onward

I too have some footage of myself chasing Rod Hinton for an entire lap and there should also be some of me doing a nice little forward flip with a one and a half pike over the bars in there somewhere as well. I'll try and post it up today (once they block-and-tackle me out of bed  :'()

I agree - a great day!  This was my first vinduro on a PE250 1982 and really enjoyed it, as well as mates Andrew Lambie and Aaron Bonfadini.

By the way, did anyone happen to find a google mounted Drift helmet cam out there?  And for the more eagle eyed of you, did you find a kick starter for a RM250 D?

It was a great day and I look forward to seeing some helmet cam footage 
As I was flying through the very tight bush I was thinking I wish I had a helmet cam then I bashed my head into some more thick bush and thought maybe not as I would definatly loose or smash a helmet cam in those conditions.
Good luck in finding your lost camera and kick starter, I'm still waiting on my WR430 kick stater to turn up from Cookardinia from 2011.

Husky kickstarter? I lost one at a pony express at ravenswood in 1986! It was a muddy day and after i priced a new one  i decided i would walk the track with a metal detector.
I started at the start line and spent two hours waving the stick about finding all sorts of useless crap (never seen so many old spark plugs!) then just as i came up to the final jump next to the start line, there it was sticking out of the ground!

Had a great ride at Castella, got severely spanked by some fast young guys after blabbing about about who would do the most laps on another forum!

got covered in fork oil again and spent all day dreaming about a disk brake front end!
