Too many fast guys to pick a winner, only half them were at Kempsey. Haven't seen Herfoss, Parkes, Staufer, Vermuellen and a few others yet.

Herfoss brilliant, Broc multiple OZ Dirttrack Champion, Jamie second or third best of all time,
CV not seen on dirt since Juniors, but 5 years of AMA makes Mick the man and Toby is a Dirttracker, still young enough to be fearless and crazily fast,

I'm really hanging for this meeting, a bunch of us are heading up on Friday to stay overnight at Slakewells new Raymond Terrace digs......it's my birthday on Sunday so we might even partake in a soothing ale or two!
Poor old Jonesy is spewing, it's his daughter's 17th birthday party that night so he couldn't get a leave pass :'(.  It's a brilliant lineup but don't count out Klub Kevlar Komrade Shawn Giles as a roughy outsider, he's really sharp on this kind of racing as anyone who remembers his exploits on Tony Hattons CR500 will know. His epic battle with Eddie Warren at the Bathurst Long Track a few years ago is now a part of long track legend.

A huge crowd is expected at the Taree Motorcycle Club at Old Bar for the inaugural, star-studded Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic this Saturday January 19.

The event will mark a rare occasion where decorated motorcycle racers, past and present and from a host of different disciplines, not only come together in one place but also have the opportunity to go head-to-head.

Competitors of every level will take to the track with peace of mind knowing that Australia’s leading motorsport medical service is trackside and waiting to assist if necessary.

Because of their extensive industry experience and knowledge, Troy Bayliss made a personal request that Suzuki RACESAFE be on hand for the event.

“The medical facility that Suzuki RACESAFE has is the best on offer,” said Bayliss.

“We have some of the best riders in the world at this event, right through to juniors in their very first races on 50cc bikes – knowing that RACESAFE is on hand for assistance or advice is a great.”

Bayliss will donate a unique signed painting for RACESAFE to auction in future, and a number of other riders, including World Speedway Champion Jason Crump, have also pledged some unique goods.

Simon Maas, Director of Emergency Services at Suzuki RACESAFE, thanked Bayliss and the event team for the opportunity to be a part of the Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic in its inaugural year.

“The Suzuki RACESAFE Medical Team is thrilled to be invited to join Troy and the All-Star line up of riders at the Troy Bayliss Classic,” said Maas.

“The list of riders competing is just amazing and this will be a rare opportunity to watch some of the greatest riders from yesterday and today competing in what is sure to be an action-packed day.

“Here’s hoping for all the riders they don’t need our services on the day, but we are very pleased to be there to support all the riders and the event - perhaps some the retired stars might be making good use of our physio and massage services!

“It’s sure to be an amazing event and one we are very proud to be involved with.”

A full day of flat track action will begin from 9.30am when gates open and the final touches are put on race bikes as riders ready for the event.

From 10.00am the timed practice sessions will begin to give an early indication of pace and form over a lap on the challenging oil-based circuit.

Round 1 will begin from midday, with over 175 riders – local competitors in addition to the Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic All-Stars and Legends – laying down the first laps for position and points over 33 races.

Round 2 will follow, with a further 33 races to be run in the afternoon sun.

Superpole for the Troy Bayliss Classic will then be held, with each rider given a clear track to set their fastest time.
The off track entertainment line-up for the Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic is shaping up to be as impressive as the on-track rider line-up.

PLUS

Current world freestyle trials rider Jack Field is returning from the USA to perform exclusively at the Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic and will be joined by renowned stunt bike rider ‘Lukey Luke’ and burn out king Mick Brasher.

Performing a number of shows throughout the program, Field, Luke and Brasher will entertain crowds during breaks in the racing program.

Field who is currently performing shows with the Flair Action Sports team presented by The Hell Team in the USA said he excited to be performing at such a unique event.

“What a unique event,” Field said. “It’s going to be an awesome day, I'm really excited to be performing along side all these world class athletes.

“This is definitely not something that happens every day or ever before as far as I’m aware.

“Trials is still one of the lesser known motorsports so I will be there showing the public just what can be done on these Gas Gas trials motorcycles. I will be demonstrating all sorts of stunts including the worlds lowest motorcycle backflip,” Field concluded.

As one of Australia's top stunt bike riders Lukey Luke regularly performs stunts at major sporting event and even red carpet events, Luke will perform on the oil based short track only meters from the crowd as well as the purpose built burn out track.

Burn out king Mick Brasher is sure to turn heads in his purpose built Corolla. Boasting a blown methanol 350 chev engine it is something to be seen.

Throughout the day the Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic Legends and All Stars will be signing autographs at the Pixado trade stand.

The Pixado Troy Bayliss Classic will be held at Taree Motorcycle Club on Saturday January 19.

Round 3 and a further 33 races will determine event finalists who will run off for major positions under lights.

The event will conclude with some of the most hotly-contested and anticipated racing in Australian history as champions from vastly-different backgrounds and era’s eye off top prize.

Media wishing to attend the event need to complete the attached form and email it back to [email protected] before Thursday 17th January.

With ticket sales exceeding expectations, the public are encouraged to purchase tickets online https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?ID=7910 (Online tickets will close at 6pm on Thursday 17th January)

It's so good to see the amount of interest this event has generated. Some of the riders have factory bikes to ride etc. Hopefully it will generate interest at a club level for 2013 and beyond as well. Wish I was going the place will be buzzing!

What? Not going John? It's really not that hard crossing the Coolangatta border, you don't even need a passport I've been told. ;)
