   Maybe he's a cross between a ('num'bnut) and an  (em'pty'- head) the breed seem to be fairly thick on the ground these days  ::)

If I'd been one of the other competitors, I'd be strongly inclined to punch shit out of him...

And there's yet another lesson in "Don't do dumb shit because there's cameras everywhere, and it's so easy to make yourself famous in all the wrong ways"...

What was he actually trying to do to the bike? They sound like small capacity 4Ts - surely it would have been worth trying to clutch start it?

I'm not familair with what sort of bike he was riding but from my road racing experience, most drops like that break either the gearlever or it's linkage and/or the rearset/footpeg or all of the above.

Either way it's the end of your race and most people would thank their lucky stars they weren't hurt .. but not this numpty.  He obviously thinks with a restart he can repair the bike and win!!!
