different pipe
« on: November 07, 2012, 01:51:47 pm »
Just tried a different pipe what a difference in performance with just a change like that was told its a bassini but it has MCM stamped at the muffler end, is that correct, either way it's a cracker of a pipe.

looks more like a hooker pipe to me, bassini tend to be one flowing length not so sectional.

MCM might be a copy pipe or just that Can section welded on.

unless your giving paddock rides id take that guard off the back and put it on the front , save uyou burning holes in yout race gear every ride.... :-[  trust me.

MCN was, I believe an Aussie company but I may be confusing it with something else. It does look like my Bassani or a Torque Engineering pipe.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Rookie you werent lying about the pipe it's worth the coin he's gunna take it( if he doesn't I will!! ) then I'm going to shelve the one I have started and copy this one dont need any more go than that with the porting ive done and this pipe, its a hell of a lot easier to make than the one in progress at the moment and a known quantity. Got your old 360 going it had closed the points up and the plugs (B9EGV) in it looked ok but were crap put B8ES ones in it, better spark and starts easily now also pulled carb apart but it looked ok.

Freaky the can section looks original to me not an add on. Funny you should mention the sheild rode the bike down the street in saftey shorts and burnt my leg on the pipe exactly where rookies nylons melted to the pipe as well ,the other shield is there but needs a repair done on it before it can go back on. The shocks are 350 mm eye to eye Koni # 7610 1523's.

She's a ripper hey! Yeah as I said the bike needed nothing more than a once over, which it seems you've wasted no time doing ;D That pipe would be treasured by anyone just to have up on the shelf but that serves little purpose, very glad to see its going to a good home and gonna be treated to the pratical use it was made for!  ;) Although if you're able to replicate it properly and economically they might become not so hard to come across anyway :) I'm sure you'll have plenty lining up if you wanted sell a few  ;) ;D

Didnt end up scrapping the one under construction kept on making it seeing as I had  it half done already only had a quick ride down the street dont want to upset the neighbors any more than usual but seems promising so far.
