TS185ER shocks and what length??
« on: April 15, 2008, 05:58:28 pm »
Trying to source decent shocks for the TS. Current ones are 335mm eye to eye and very shagged. Have spotted good Suzuki ones on evil bay but length is 375mm. Will they be too long or just right to get a bit more travel happening?????

i think ive put 350mm Konis on mine. i was looking at 360mm shocks but its kinda stretching it a bit. too long and the chain rubs on swing arm. 350 is what i would say the maximum that comforatably goes on. without mucking up other stuff too much and requireing modifications else where.

hey Freakshow, I’ve also wondered about this as I saw some ohlins and it looked like someone just took the reservoir off and put a valve in there. My answer would be no though (not a good idea). The reservoirs have either a piston or a bladder (im not sure on Works shocks) separating the gas from the oil. If you were to take the hose off and stick a valve in there I don’t think it would work properly as the gas will mix with the oil and aerate it. The emulsion shocks that are like this eg Fox gas shocks have different valving calibrated to work on this emulsion princible with nitrogenated oil.
